The incident occurred at 6.55am on the A6068 Colne Road when a
79-year-old male pedestrian and a grey Honda Civic were involved in a
collision.
The incident occurred just outside of the village when the vehicle
was travelling in the direction of Glusburn.
Road closures were put in
place for around five hours while an initial collision investigation took place.
The pedestrian was wearing
dark clothing and walking with a walking
stick at the time of the incident and officers are appealing to anyone who
either saw him or the vehicle prior to the collision to contact them with
information. His next of kin has been informed.
Anyone who witnessed the
incidents or the events surrounding it or who was travelling in the area in the
time leading up to the collision and who may have dash cam footage which could
