THE body of a woman found in
the River Aire near Skipton last week has been identified by police as
that of missing Carol Latham.
Ms Latham, 63, was last seen
leaving her home in Carelton Road
Police launched an appeal and
carried out extensive searches of the area after she failed to return home.
In addition to specialist
police teams and ground searches, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, the
National Police Air Service, the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Underwater Search Team and
volunteer search and rescue teams were all involved in the search.
Her body was found on
Thursday following a call to the police by a member of the public.
A spokesperson for North
Yorkshire Police said: "Police believe that there are no suspicious
circumstances involved in Mrs Latham's death and are preparing a file for the
coroner."
