POLICE have today issued an appeal for information about a
violent incident that happened three two weeks ago.
The attack saw a man stopped in traffic punched around 15
times in the face as he was stopped in traffic.
North Yorkshire Police today issued an appeal for witnesses
and information about the incident which occurred on 8 August 2017 in Skipton.
It happened at around 4.55pm ,
just after the traffic lights outside Skipton
Hospital
Police said: "A man approached a vehicle on Keighley
Road travelling out of Skipton which had stopped
in traffic and begun shouting and swearing at the driver.
"He has then started punching the driver of the vehicle
in the face through the open window.
"The suspect is believed to have delivered around 15
punches to the driver’s head and then immediately ran off towards Tesco.
"He is described as being a white man, aged in his mid
to late teens, of slim build with short, light coloured hair.
"We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the
public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the
incident.
£In particular, we are appealing for information about the
attack itself and anyone who was in the area immediately before or after the
incident."
No details have been released about the extent of the
injuries suffered by the victim at this stage.
