Police investigating Yorkshire Dales sheep thefts

Police are investigating after a large number of sheep were stolen in Richmondshire and Craven.

Sheep
It is believed that 26 young male mule sheep were taken from a field off the Hawes to Buttertubs road sometime between Tuesday 13 August and Tuesday 27 August 2013.
The sheep are all marked with an orange dot on their lift ribs and are tagged with the number: UK122661.
The sheep are valued at around £1,400.
Officers are appealing to anyone who has any information about the theft to come forward with information.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for PC Carol Gordon or Northallerton police.

Craven thefts
Police in Craven are also investigating the theft of 15 sheep from a farm in Clapham.
Eight sheep and Seven Lambs were stolen sometime between 29 July and 29 August 2013.
They have a faint blue mark on their rump and are tagged with the number: UK124961.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries into the thefts is urged to contact Craven police on 101.
