Bank Scams

An elderly North Yorkshire resident has been contacted over the telephone by persons purporting to be from the NatWest Bank, convincing him that there were issues with his account, that they wanted to change his account details and transfer the money across from his current account. This has resulted in a large sum of money being transferred to an account in West Yorkshire. We need people to be aware that this scam is taking place and that people may become the target. Banks would never ask for such details or actions over the telephone. If wary ask for a name and telephone number. DO NOT ring that number. DO go to your own branch and speak to somebody and report this.
